Program
The traditional Stone Ministry stone cementing sessions are presently scheduled Friday at 10:00 am and Saturday at 2:00 pm. during the camping season. In this traditional program campers sign up at the Barn then meet at the Farmhouse parking lot. Participants then have a ride on the Stone Ministry wagon behind “Harry”, the old 1940;s Harry Fergusen farm tractor, to one of various old farmer’s stone piles. There the campers choose a stone that strikes a chord with them. After riding to the Stone ministry site people wash their stones free of “the temporary” (dirt and moss), mark it with a personal dedication with chalk, make mortar in community and cement the stone into the structure.
ON SATURDAY MORNINGS FROM 9:30 – 11:30 THERE IS OPEN STONE CEMENTING TIME. JUST COME, PICK A STONE FROM OUR ON SITE STONE PILES THEN WASH IT, MARK IT AND CEMENT IT INTO THE STRUCTURE WITH THE STONE MINISTRY MASON PRESENT.
Youth participants in the WOODSMOKE summer camp program cement in a stone on Friday to dedicate their week at the camp or some other personal subject.
We see a great potential for theme retreats to the Stone Ministry such as Confirmation classes, bereavement, marriage enrichment, bible study, etc. Such retreats would find their own guest pastor and would utilize a Stone Ministry mason.
